The Best Day

Thurston Moore

Released October 21 2014

Format: LP/CD/DA

The Best Day is almost calming in its familiarity, particularly as it recalls a minor-key update of {Sonic Youth’s} well-loved late-’90s salvo ‘A Thousand Leaves.’ Even-handed and steady, repetitious and assured, these eight songs encourage the listener to peer inside, where the details of his decisions lie in wait.”NPR

Thurston Moore’s first solo record since 2010’s Demolished Thoughts was released in 2014. On The Best Day, Moore was backed by James Sedwards of Nought (guitar), Deb Googe of My Bloody Valentine (bass) and Steve Shelley of Sonic Youth (drums). The album radiates with both his signature thrashing electric guitars as well as blissful 12-string acoustic ballads.
